I am sure most of you have gotten to a point in life where you stop and wonder: how did I get here and what’s next?
This moment came to me in 2012 when my best friend of 15 years challenged me to start running. At this time I had been married for 6 years to my amazing husband and our daughter was 5. I had struggled with my weight since her birth and honestly was not in a happy place. So, I reluctantly accepted the challenge to start running with my first 5k a month away.
I did not realize how important a lifestyle including my diet would be at the time, thank goodness I realized quick. After my first 5k, my legs felt weak, and I had absolutely no energy. I had a friend at the time try to help me with my lifestyle change. She is a competitive body builder, and I learned about eating clean.
It was not until recently when I found The Dolce Diet that things started to make sense. When I started my journey I weighed 183 lbs. and now I weigh 160 with a goal of 155 to my 5’6 frame.
Fast forward to the present, I am in better shape due to my love of running and the introduction to Jiu Jitsu through my husband in early 2013. The clean eating is still a very important part of our family life, but the body building side of things was not working for me.
I am an athlete, so Dolce’s principles were like music to my ears, and since he has worked within the MMA world, he TRULY understands what a martial arts person needs.
I know that if I can do it working full time, taking care of my family and living an active lifestyle that anyone can do it.
I purchased the Living Lean Cookbook and the Living Lean book in February and LOVE both. I eat the breakfast bowl every morning and my husband loves all the recipes, especially the Champion Chili. The Dolce Diet and its principles have become so ingrained in me that I am getting ready to start my fitness nutrition certification via NASM so I can help others in my shoes. I look forward to adding the Dolce Diet certification to my bag of tools soon. Thank you Mike and Brandy for all you do.
