New Year’s Eve Non-Alcoholic Mocktails

Happy New Year!
With the dawning of the New Year quickly approaching, we know you’ll be celebrating with family and friends. However, we want to help keep you on track with your 2015 goals! So don’t blow it all in one night! Here are some Dolce-Approved “mocktail” recipes to keep you in the spirit of celebrating without completely undoing all the hard work you’ve done!!
Note: if choosing to turn these into adult beverages, remember that 1 oz of hard liquor has 100 calories. Please drink responsibly.
Hibiscus Punch
(Similar to: vodka-cranberry)
• 3 cups dried sorrel or red hibiscus flowers, or 5 Red Zinger tea bags
• 1 4-inch cinnamon stick
• 10 whole cloves
• ¼ tsp. crushed allspice
• 2 3-inch pieces peeled fresh ginger
• Agave syrup or honey to sweeten as desired
Directions:
Bring all ingredients and 4 cups water to a boil in saucepan. Reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer 10 minutes. Cool, strain, and chill.

The “Athletic” Bloody Mary
(Similar to: Bloody Mary)
• 3 tomatoes
• 4-5 romaine lettuce leaves
• 1/3 English cucumber
• 1 stalk celery
• 1/3 of a small beet
• 2 medium carrots
• 1 clove garlic (optional)
• 1 pinch of sea salt
Directions:
Juice veggies and pour into large glass. Add pinch of sea salt and stir well. Garnish as you see fit.

Frozen Strawberry Lemonade
(Similar to: a frozen margarita)
• 2 cups lemonade
• 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries
• 1 cup coconut water (or regular)
• ice cubes
• squeeze of fresh lemon juice
• lemon slices and/or mint leaves for garnish
• optional: fresh strawberries blended in
Directions:
Blend and serve!

Lemon Berry Spritzer
(Similar to: a Mojito)
• 1/2 cup lemonade (regular or raspberry)
• 1/4 cup fresh raspberries (or unsweetened frozen)
• 2 tbsp. club soda
• 4 mint leaves
• 4 ice cubes
Directions:
Put mint and ice into an 8-ounce glass. With a spoon, mash mint leaves and ice until mint is broken up into pieces. In blender puree lemonade with raspberries. Pour over mint/ice and top with club soda. Garnish with raspberries, lemons and/or mint leaves.

The Main Event
(Similar to: traditional champagne)
• 2 liters chilled club soda infused with fresh ginger OR 2 liters of Hansen’s organic chilled ginger ale
• 1/2 can of frozen white grape juice concentrate, thawed
• 1 small basket of raspberries, rinsed and drained
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir to combine. Serve in the fancy glasses. Don’t forget to say Cheers! and Happy New Year!!
