MIKE DOLCE ON HOW TO TRAVEL THE PATH TO SUCCESS
By Mike Dolce
With all the conflicting information on the market, how are you to truly know which lifestyle program to start and believe in? Or more importantly, how can you stick to the program you’re already on?
In my business, nobody is happy; not the UFC world-champion that has yet another fight to train for, or the Hollywood starlet that has to prepare for the worldwide tour promoting her new movie in which she was a bikini clad action hero, (dieting for 8 months in total when all is said and done).
The only difference between these beautiful buff bodies and yours is that they stick to the program.
They only make changes that are in their best interest and never use excuses to fall off track. In the fight world, that could mean getting KTFO in front of millions of bloodthirsty fans or worse yet…having a single spot of cellulite pop up on every newsstand tabloid on the planet. (KTFO doesn’t sound so bad anymore now does it?)
Your job may not pose such immediate and clear consequences, so you ease up a bit. You do not set goals and hold yourself accountable. You cave into peer pressure or social stigmas and wind up wandering the field with the rest of the herd.
It is my job to light the path, to guide your way, to help you avoid the pitfalls and take you directly to the place of your goals.
I am a mapmaker, a Cosmetic Cartographer. I have uncovered the path that will lead you to your own personal treasure.
What I cannot do is do it for you. That must come from you.
Your journey will not be lonely. In fact, you will be surrounded by every possible advantage you can think of, including myself, who’s perpetually focused on helping you…not to mention the boundless energy your newfound lifestyle will fuel you with; the new strength and endurance you’ll develop, allowing you to smash through any obstacle that may get in your way; and the motivation that the world will give you as your sexy self comes strolling by.
Life is much easier when you are filled with energy and confidence. What then can stop you? Who then can hold you back? When shall you start?
Nothing! No one! Now!
Now is the time, YOUR time, to make a change, to BE the change and to LEAD the change.
There is a great saying that enters my thoughts quite a few times during the day, and with this thought I will leave you on the path to your treasure.
“A true warrior fights not because he hates what stands before him, but because he loves what stands behind him.”

DOLCE LIFESTYLE: MOM SHARES SIMPLE & HEALTHY SCHOOL LUNCH IDEAS
Most of the recipes for the lunch ideas listed in this post can be found in The Dolce Diet: Living Lean Cookbook available on Kindle, iTunes, Nook and Paperback.
by Stephanie Dodge
It’s about that time again! Back to school! Parents are celebrating (and regaining their sanity) and are kids moaning and groaning through the school supply section of the store. Since starting the Dolce Diet lifestyle I have always encouraged my children (ages 3 and 8) to try new foods and eat almost the same meals as my husband and I. They love it! So with school coming I cringe with the thought of my daughter eating a school lunch or some pre-packaged garbage. Here are some of my ideas to keep my children and yours happy, healthy and ready to learn!

Packaging
I first want to address packaging, as in how to package your child’s lunch. My solution is bento boxes, you can find them almost everywhere now and I feel that they are the perfect container for some creative, preservative free, Dolce-approved lunches. Now that we have the right container, let’s move on to preparing the right lunch.
Main dishes
-Apple and almond butter sandwich (apple slices replace bread)
-Wheat pita with egg and avocado salad
-Dolce pizza leftovers
-Ezekiel bread with apples and havarti cheese
-Pita pizza (they assemble, place toasted pita in one space, shredded cheese and power pasta sauce in the two others) Kids love to assemble their own lunches!
-Leftover turkey burgers on pita bread
-Almond butter and fruit stuffed pita
-Honey mustard turkey and pear salad or sandwich (Note: If making a salad, layer all ingredients on bottom with spinach on top so it won’t get soggy.)
-Chicken apple quesadillas
-Waldorf salad
-Turkey meatballs and power pasta sauce to dip in or pour over
Snacks
-Cherry tomatoes
-Sliced banana with peanut butter
-Cheese stick
-Carrots with Greek yogurt for dipping
-Fruit kabobs
-Celery with almond butter and raisins on top
-Hardboiled egg
-Dolce Go-bars Nuts
-Home baked tortilla chips

Drinks
My eight year old goes to school with water- this is what she prefers. If your child is reluctant, try adding fresh fruit to give it some flavor.
As an end note, if you’re living the Dolce Diet lifestyle and your children are not, you’re wrong! No sugar coating it, if you want the best for your kids, give them the best! I would love to hear from other mothers and fathers about what you send your children to school with. Please comment and let me know!

DOLCE LIFESTYLE: 5 Common Teas Reveal Their Healing Secrets
by Aaron Fried
Dolce Diet Staff Writer
Tea has been used for health and healing since ancient times. Now, knowledge of the benefits of those little leaves has spread across the world. There are over 3,000 types of teas, all of which have their own unique appeal. Here are 5 of the most common, along with their lesser known health benefits.
1. Black Tea
This is the most common type of tea in the Western world. If you’re not a coffee drinker, or want to quit coffee, black tea might be a good substitute since it has the highest caffeine content of any tea. In fact, it is widely known as Breakfast Tea. It may also protect lungs from smoke and pollution damage and potentially lower the risk of stroke.
2. Green Tea
Mike Dolce – and much of the medical community – love green tea … and for good reason! It has been shown to lower the risk of both Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, help in weight loss through thermogenesis, assist in fighting certain cancers, and reduce stress on the brain, along with several other benefits.
3. White Tea
This is the least processed variety of tea, and there are studies which suggest that it has the strongest anti-cancer properties of any tea. It can also fight bacterial infections.

4. Oolong Tea
Though one of the less common types of tea in America, studies suggest that oolong tea can help to lower cholesterol. Rich in powerful antioxidants, oolong tea also can help remove harmful toxins from our bodies.

5. Nighttime herbal teas
If you have trouble falling asleep or just want some help letting go of the day’s stress, try a tea containing chamomile or valerian root, both popular herbal ingredients in nighttime teas. Valerian root has sedative and anxiety-reducing effects while chamomile not only helps produce a relaxed state, but it can also help knock out colds and ease menstrual cramps.

DOLCE LIFESTYLE: Letting Go Of The 'What-ifs'
by Shantanee
As I sit here at on a bench in the gym, awaiting BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for anyone who isn’t aware) to start, I’m yet again pondering my life, and what exactly I want from it.
I’ve become so enthralled with Jiu Jitsu, it has recently invaded my dreams. So much so, I woke up this morning clenching my wrist. It may just be the only healthy obsession I’ve ever had. Aside from contemplating whatever maneuver-of-the-day I’m being taught, I spend just as much time wondering “What If?”
What if I had started sooner? What if someone had pushed me this direction? Where would my life be then? What if I was taught better choices? What if? What if? What if?!
Once this starts, I shake my head so rapidly it’s dizzying. My focus isn’t swayed one bit, and I know what I’m supposed to do, but I find it hard to not question what could’ve been.
Without a doubt as time passes, the objective certainly changes and the goals are rearranged. Does that mean that settling is going on? Great. Another question thrown in with the many others that swirl around in my head, to go along with the kittens, rainbows, and princesses! (A little podcast humor, heh.)
I spend so much time in the past, my present suffers. I’m learning to let go of the “What-ifs” and focus on the fact that I’m doing what’s necessary to avoid any “What-ifs” in the future.
It’s quite a daunting task, but who knows? Maybe, just maybe, I’ll make something of myself and have something to be proud of! I’ve accomplished so many small personal goals these past two years I didn’t even think were possible. Here’s to many more! Maybe even some big ones as well! Now if you don’t excuse me, I gotta see a man about an arm bar! 😉
